Bento Fun #63
I don’t normally plan my Bento as I’m normally work in the ’scavenger’ style. I pack based on the food I have in the house which I’ll cooked and placed them into the box with some decoration. I think most of us do this way, which is a very natural since we don’t normally go all the way out to prepare one bento with specially cooked food right?
I seldom go all the way out to buy certain ingredients since we don’t consume so much food and most of the time we need to buy in bulk so there’s a lot of wastage. Unless we have more people eating and packing a few Bento at a time, then that’s different. Also, I try not to serve too much frozen or processed food to Darrius as they are not too healthy (that’s why you don’t see me using too much of weiners in my Bentos).
On one of the day I cooked braised chicken rice in sesame seed oil, I tried to make it more enticing for Darrius, so I put up in a Bento for him. It looked much better with all the vibrant colour surrounding it than just having the plain black rice with chicken.

That’s all for today… have fun Bento-ing folks!

That chicken rice looks yummy! Too bad I can only pack rice on Sats, for the rest of the days, it’s more like tea.

Me too, my bento are food that are already inside my fridge or pantry. The only time I ever go out searching is last week for the quail eggs, cos I think with one regular egg, the kid is not going to have any space in their little tummy for other food.
Love your chicken rice !! how about some recipe, dear?
Amy, I thought you do pack rice for your kids?
Christene, the link is there… you just need to mouse over… this template the way they put the colour all so similar so people don;t know which is the highligthed one… might need to hunt for a new template soon.
