Bento Fun #78
Yesterday we had a simple dinner with steamed fish and some stir-fried cabbage so I was quite lazy to do much until I open up my rice cooker and saw that I had actually steamed a few slices of pumpkin a small portion of corn on the cob for Darrius! It was already quite late and Darrius was hungry and kept calling out to me when I hastily pack this bento for him.
Finally I get the chance to use my Pooh Bear bento box again after being in cold storage for sometime…

Silly me forgot to take up the portion cup of the box and when I realized I was too lazy to move all the stuff.
In the box I made 2 pumpkin onigiri with faces (also a chin-chye one as you can see it is a fast job) with details of eyes and hair made from seaweed and the lips from the tip of the strawberry. A small portion of corn on the con, some steamed fish, strawberry tulip and a small cup of stir-fried cabbage outside the box.
The idea of this strawberry tulip struck me when I was thinking on how can I squeeze it into the box. Then I remembered I have those leaf picks which are really handy for items like these. However, if this bento was to be covered, then there isn’t a need to make the tulip stand up…

Ok, that’s all for today…
Hope you have fun Bento-ing!

The tulips are nice, you cut them free hand?
Very easy to cut only…. just do a V cut on the tip and that it!
Wow, great idea with the tulip strawberries. Must do that soon.
SIG, maybe you can even cut a few V so look more like tulip… I’m going to try tomorrow…
