Bento Fun #85
This week we ate out quite a lot hence I did not cook that much. And we have been having bread for lunch too as I am lazy to clean the kitchen twice everyday… Also due to lack of sleep and hence I’m getting a little lazy too! 
I have quite a lot of cherry tomatoes left and not sure what to do with them except using them for Darrius bento. So, here is a ladybird bento for Darrius!

This bento consist of a cherry tomato cut into half and made 2 ladybirds/ladybugs dressed up with nori and cheese for the eyes and mouths. Blanched some broccoli and I had some stir-fried beans and pork stripes dish which I used some of the French beans to decorate the top with some carrot flowers on a thin bed of rice. I tried using the straws to cut the small holes… not a very easy thing to do if it is too small and the straw too soft.
Sprinkled with some peas which I got from the sweet peas and some egg furikake on the broccoli and rice. I used a slice of Romain lettuce to ‘let the ladybug bite on it’ for cuteness. Though may look rather simple but I had a hard time sticking the nori onto the cherry tomato!! They refused to stick for some odd reasons!

A shot of Darrius with his ‘meal’ for the day. I gave him extra dishes (steamed fish and the stir-fried beans with some apples) A little too much for him I guess as he refused to eat the rice but started playing with the ‘ladybugs’ half way through and fell asleep after biting on all the stuff but not eating them! He did not have any nap so fell asleep after I scolded him for playing with his food. KIDS!

That’s all for today. Finally it is Friday and this weekend will be another busy one for me as I have some cupcake orders on the list…

Yeah… I think I’m too ambitious!!! Thought I want to let him eat more since he always complains that he’s hungry…
Maybe not a lot lar…just that Darrius was fascinated by the cute ladybugs. So sayang to eat them, so just play with them …hahaha.
Aiyo, the ladybugs so cute!!! I also want to eat them. The carrot flowers are really nice too. I’m running out of ideas for YY bentos liao, keep making the same stuff for her week in week out. Sigh! Have to start again next week when school reopens.

This boy is getting very notti these days… always play with his food especially main meals… he is only keen with the fruits and treats and if I gave him juices… that’s it! No food entering except those juices!

I understand how you feel… I think I have bento-block sometimes and you can see most are like chin-chye packed type.
I guess what is more important is you pack all those daily requirement for YY and that she gets healthy food packed by her mommy.
this is so pretty. I had wanted to do the lady bug long time but haven’t found tomatoes that red yet. Loves those ladybugs. Did Darrius pop them into his mouth right away?
