Bento Fun #94
Yesterday was really a bad day for me. I woke up early to start my cupcake projects and the weather was superly humid that caused my sugar paste to melt! The rain that came in the late afternoon did not help but made matter worst. The customer was bugging me so I have to quickly pack up the cuppies and passed them to her unknowingly one of the wings of the butterflies actually dropped off!
After the first project, I continued after a short dinner break but the rain continued which made it hard for me to do much as my sugar paste was melting like nobody business! PiggyBeng told me to pack up and go rest. So, I went and sleep at 10pm.
PiggyBeng woke me up when his alarm was about to sound as he heard that I was tossing around. Yeah, I can’t sleep as I was worried with the weather and how it will affects my decorations on the cuppies. Luckily the weather was sunny this morning so I quickly finished up and was early for delivery.
After the delivery, which was in Bayan Lepas I decided to pop by QueensBay Mall so Darrius gets to enjoy a few hours of running about since most weekends I was caught up with cupcakes anyway.
It was late when we left so I know I won’t have time to defrost any meat for dinner so I bought some chicken katsu with ebi. I tried it once before and it was… YUM!
.

.
When I got home I cooked the rice but it was a tad too dry so I can’t do the rice balls which I intend to do with my new rice ball mold. Instead I just roll it with a clingy wrap into a round shape. I added some Sakura Denbu and some furikake into the rice too. Since there were lack of dishes, I fried some omelette with French beans and added 2 different color of cherry tomatoes. There are some ketchup in the monkey case for the omelette and chicken katsu. Some steamed carrot which I threw into the rice cooker earlier for the rice balls. Nori for faces’ details.
Another speedy bento!
That’s all for today, hope you have fun bento-ing!

Oh dear, how stressful when you have such problems with the cakes. Hope it turned out well despite the missing butterfly wing.
Pls. may I know where you bought your sakura denbu from. Do you know of any specialty shops in Penang selling Japanese foodstuff for bentoing. Thks
SIG, I just hope the customer did not notice it since the butterfly was a very tiny one….
