Bento Fun #100!!!
OMG!!! This is the 100th bento I’ve posted!!! Too bad it was wrong timing hence I did not make anything special out of it to commemorate such a special post! hahaha (excuses, excuses!)
Anyway, this was a quick fix that I made this morning as I thought I have a little time on my hand but it turned out it was not! When I was half way sticking those eyes on the mango slices, Glennedine was crying so loud over the baby monitor that I have to abandon everything and ran up stair to check on her. Poor dear was awake as she was not feeling too well. She had her 2-month jab yesterday and has developed a mild fever early this morning. In fact she was fussing the whole night after her 1st feed around 2am+. I did not get to sleep too since I was so worried about her.
Ended up all of us were late so I hastily completed the bento and left everything on the kitchen counter until I came back after dropping Darrius.

I am using this square bento box most of the time as the size is just nice for Darrius. Not too much and not too little. Knowing today is porridge day, I decided to give him 2 mini mantou. I added 2 slices of green skinned mango and 2 chicken cocktail sausages (cut with a sausage cutter into a crab shape) with a star and fish carrot as deco.
Well, I thought this will be a surprise for the little fella but guess what??? He forgot to check his bag other compartment for bento today!!! What a bummer for mommy! After all the hard and rush work… he forgot all about his bento!
Anyhow, he had it as his lunch instead and was happy to see ‘cute’ bento again. And that is how my 100th bento was being remembered!

Your mantou looks so delicious! I was wondering if you could send me your recipe? And how in the world did you get them to swirl and look so darn pretty?
Thank you
