Bento Fun #139 – Another 3-D Bear Bento

This morning I did not make any bento for Darrius as he told me the night before he don’t want any. Well, this boy just don’t know how to appreciate good things in life! All he wants now is to play and play! That was what the teacher told me! He rather trade his ‘makan time’ to play! (*o*)

Since he is getting fried beehoon for today in kindy, I am not too worried that he will get hungry. I just packed for him a fun size packet of Arnott’s bear cookies in case he gets hungry.

After dropping him off, I brought Baby G along with me for groceries shopping. Ended up buying a huge pack of heart shape chicken nuggets (trust me, this is the first time I bought these since my hubby never approved of me buying these stuff!), a box of Korean strawberries, a loaf of chocolate raisin bread and a box of whipped potato from KFC. :D It is so much easier to buy stuff when I do it on my own… coz if my hubby tags along he will rush me with a list! :P

So, instead of packing a bento for school, I decided to fry a few pieces of these chicken nuggets to test if they are tasty and pack them into a bento box for Darrius’s lunch.

The dark color of the chocolate raisin bread prompted me to make it into a bear. Therefore, I tried making another 3-D bear again, this time with slightly more details. I still have some raisin oatmeal bread so I used the lighter color to make it more contrasting. Used nori and cheese for the details on the bear’s eyes.

To complete the meal I gave him some strawberries for Vitamin C, a bottle of apple flavor Vitagen and a scoop of whipped potato sprinkled with some laver.

That’s all for today… hope all of you have fun bento-ing! :D

This bear is totally awesomely huggable! I love the texture – it makes him seem so real! I love how he is hugging the strawberry!

    • Angeleyes says:

Thanks Asfora! I was supposed to make a heart from the mini chicken cocktail but I was running late so used the strawberry instead! Well, it turned out nice nonetheless! :P

Adorable teddy bear! A lot of nice details … Please please … hope he is not going to trade his ‘makan time’ with playing and ignore this teddy :)

    • Angeleyes says:

Thanks Lia! Now that he eats his bento at home I can supervise him and make sure he finish everything! Got to bribe him with Vitagen even though I know I’m not supposed to since they are kinda sweet!

  3. This 3D teddy bear is just too cute! And this time with much more details yeah, even the paws :D
The teddy looks so cozy wrapped by the lettuce leaves!

I know it is too much to ask, but is it possible to do a tutorial on the 3d bear??

    • Angeleyes says:

SIG – Tutorial? Hmm… I’ll try but these few weeks will be tough as we will be off next Friday… so probably after my Melbourne trip then I’ll do one and post up. :)

Pray that Darius will eat…I believe just a passing phase, don;t give up ya? Perservere. :)

Can I ask how u cut all the bear ‘parts’? By hand or special cutters? They looked PERFECT ! Awesome!

    • Angeleyes says:

      Thanks Tona Mama!

I cut using the oval and round cutters in different sizes. Else they won’t be so perfect! hehehhe :D

  8. [...] have wanted to fry some of those heart nuggets for him too but this morning Baby G woke up when hubby’s alarm went off so I spent some time [...]

little darrius better appreciate such nice work of mummy….else next time aunty bit his bum-bum, lol !!

    • Angeleyes says:

Jacss – Thanks for your compliment! Yeah, sometimes it hurts when he don’t appreciate what I’ve done for him but then again, at this age… he is getting more playful so food has turned into a non-priority!

The bear is sooo adorable. So looking forward to your tutorial, but doubt I’ll have the patience nor time in the morning to fix such a nice bear.

    • Angeleyes says:

AMD – actually with careful planning, they don’t take too much time. I will try to come up with the tutorial once I have some time to spare.
