Bento Fun #158 – Mickey and Treats!

Yesterday was a public holiday here in Penang. This is the first year we celebrate the Heritage Day (announced last year) as we finally got our status last year from UNESCO. Most schools and civil services were closed but most MNCs here did not recognized the day so Darrius got a day off while his daddy still have to work! Bummer?

Well, in a way! Coz yesterday it was Darrius’s daddy’s birthday! So, we met up for lunch and after that I brought the kids shopping and bought a cake (ok, no time to bake cake though I used to own a cupcake shop!) for the celebration after dinner… daddy to blow the candles as well as Darrius blowing the candle! Any birthday celebrations will also be Darrius’s birthday celebration too

That also means, no bento yesterday since we went out very early and only came back before dinner time to prepare dinner. After all the activities, I was so worn out and totally blank out!

And what is for bento today? Since Darrius will get a slice of cake today, I try not to pack too much into his box.

Yes, it is another Mickey theme bento since he is currently so obsessed with anything Mickey! This is also another trick to make him finish his bento!

I bought 2 punnets of bluberries the other day and they get bad real fast so I have to finish them soon so I gave Darrius a few skewers of that today together with some golden and a red cherry tomatoes. Today he gets a triple deck cheese and margerine sammie with a chocolate bread Mickey in the wholoemeal bread. No time for details. And for treat, I gave him 2 bite size of the GB nougats which he loves but seldom gets to eat coz they are simple too sweet! Yeap, I control his sugar intake!!
