Bento Fun #180 – Fly Away Lady Bug~
Hope you have a great weekend!
Once again we are back to the lazy Monday routine! This week will be a hectic week for me as hubby will have to stay late in the office for most of the days as his BIG-BIG Boss will be in town. That means I’ll be stuck with the kids alone for longer hours…
BTW, today is a special day for Singaporeans as it is their 45th National Day! Happy 45th Birthday Singapore! I used to live in Singapore for almost 10 years (was a PR there) and that place holds a special place in my heart (that’s where I met my hubby!). I love their National Day Parade (NDP) which always ends with great fireworks display! I loves fireworks!
Over here in Malaysia, there is no lack of activities. First, the Mega Sale has returned (I have yet to start shopping!), the 7th Month is about to start (the Chinese version of Halloween just that it last for the entire month!) and the Muslims will start their Holy Month (Ramadhan) so they will start their month long fasting. This is indeed the busiest time of the year with so many festivals going on simultaneously. When it is the Ghost Month means the Moon Cake festival is approaching! They have started selling moon cakes weeks ago! Must go get a box soon!
I’ll be taking the week in a slow pace I guess… coz there’s not much I could do when I don’t get much help around. Just hope I can get to bento as much as I can! (*o*)
Still very much with my lunch bentos since I don’t pack snack bentos as often now. Was flipping some of my bento books and got some inspiration on doing this bento…

Found my two-tiered round box which I bought long time ago. The size is just perfect for a lunch bento for Darrius as it is not that big. I put rice in the upper tier (blue) and dishes in the lower tier (beige). The goodies for today are some meat balls in teriyaki sauce sandwiched between lettuce and red cherry tomatoes, some salted pan-fried prawns, broiled broccoli florets and orange with strawberries cubes in a orange skin basket.

On the rice are some carrot flowers with endamame and the lady bug is made from half mini chicken cocktail with details from nori cut outs.
That’s all for today… hope you’ll have a great start for the week too!
p/s: I’ve entered this bento for What’s for Lunch Wednesday Week 11. Add you bento too yah!

The powder blue lunch box really brings out the flowers and ladybug on the rice! Beautiful and great choice!

Yeah, the box has a nice color combi… I felt (after looking at it many time) this bento if more suitable for a girl!
Ooh love the little lady bug n it’s trail! Great idea to make it from sausage instead of the usual tomato.
Oh yeah… I ever made a few using cherry tomatoes before!
