Bento Fun #183 – I Scream Ice-cream!
I have no intention to pack any bento this morning but I just gotta do this bento since I still have a few slices of the butterscotch bread left and those mini ice-cream cones waiting. It has been on my list for the longest time!!!!

The idea of making these cute ice-cream cones has been in my mind for a long long time! Since I still have those regular size cones I abstained from buying any more cones until we finished them. Only Darrius eats these cones as I prefer to have my ice-cream in a bowl. Darrius is more keen in the cones than the ice-cream actually!
So, without further delay, I wrapped some chopped banana and chocolate chips with the bread and make bread onigiri out of it. These mini cones are so small they can fit into the small square box. Added some cupcake sprinkles (I have to use up all my cupcake deco stuff!!!) and cheese for the eyes. Details are nori cut-outs.
Since the box is kinda filled up, I only added some grapes and a strawberry.
I am hoping to use chocolate bread on my next trial as the cheese will stands out better…

Very cute lo!
Same here, if I were to make this, I would expect Zo to finish the cones and left the bread untouched!

You can try looking at Giant… the cones is by King’s (the ice-cream manufacturer).
Ooh this is so cool. I have a colleague who did the same but with rice balls. How can any kids refuse an ‘ ice cream’? Cheers/karen
Thanks Karen!
I saw one bento book used some Japanese rolled cake
used as the cone but I can’t find it so decided to try using this
cone since my boy loves them! I wanted to use rice initially
but I don’t cook rice in the morning so have to use bread! hehehe
wow, this is amazing…never use the cone before.
thanks for the idea
