Bento Fun #209 – Dreamy Ladybug
I am feeling much better after taking the pain killer the doctor prescribed. At least I can move about like normal though I no longer able to bend my back the way I used to. However, I still need to go for my physiotherapy session today. Hopefully it is a one time thing… I really hate the thought of being a sick person!
Darrius was a good boy after learning about my little ‘mishap’ and he kept asking me how am I feeling?
For the first time, he diligently finished his bento and kept all the accessories neatly in his bento bag yesterday. I told him that I will not go pick him up if he don’t finish his bento! See, this mommy has to threaten this boy so he will behave!
He likes the dinner rolls with kaya so he asked for another one last night for today’s bento. We discussed about what should we do with the dinner rolls. Initially he wanted a whole lot of other things but I told him the bread is round so we have to keep the ideas for rounded items. And at the end, we decided on this…
.

.
It was another easy bento to do. I only need to make an indent for the ladybug’s head before cutting it and slice the ‘wings’ part so I could spread the kaya before sandwiching them. I cut a slice of nori for the centre part. Then I cut another slice of nori to cover the head part. The eyes are from filamen stick and stuck 2 spaghetti strips for the antennas. Polka dots are also nori punch out.
Boiled some endamame and the mini cocktail and put them on skewers. Some orange wedges which Darrius wanted and a red cherry tomato. There is also a filamen stick flower at the corner.
Ok, I will be doing the draw for the Giveaway today and will either post it tonight or tomorrow. I am so sorry for dragging it for so long… well, I am the Queen of Procrastination!

I think due to carrying my son… he’s not light anymore so
guessed the weight sort of put a strain on my back lor…
How adorable! I love Ladybug, you are so talented, can create a lot of cute cute bento
Thanks Ivy.
You can do them too!
So wonderful how you can discuss with your son what he wants and then just make it for him. Even when you’re not feeling well. I have a question for you; does your son eat the nori? Or does he throw it away? My daughter always throws hers away so I use it mostly for small accents. If he does, what is your trick?!
I hope you start to feel better. Looking forward to more of your bentos, as always!

Yes Kelly… sometimes I will discuss with him so that he will be happy to get
the bento I prepared.
My son LOVES nori and he will clear all those bits and pieces too!
I don’t know what tricks but he just loves eating them. I started
giving those small packets which has some flavorings in them and
he was addicted since…
Maybe you can try buying those small packets ones.
I’m so sorry to hear about your back! I hope you begin to feel better soon and the physiotherapy helps.
Cute little lady bug for the bento!
