Daiso has reached Penang’s shore

After years of wishing and hoping, Daiso finally opened its first store here on this little island. The store is located on the 2nd floor just opposite Maybank in Queensbay Mall, so you won’t miss it for sure. Though the store front is not big but in terms of sq ft, it is certainly big… probably bigger than the one in The Curve, KL. It is managed by Aeon or famously known as Jusco. Jusco is also the anchor tenant of Queensbay Mall. The only thing is, you can’t use your J-card when you shop in Daiso! :P

How can a bento gadget queen like myself is not there to witness the opening???? Too bad, wrong timing! They opened their doors yesterday but I can’t go since my car was in the workshop… Anyhow, I did not miss out on anything. I went there this morning and to my biggest disappointment, they don’t even sell a single packet of picks! Don’t talk about those gadgets to cut cheese or hams. All they have are some silicon cups, cookie cutters and molds. NO PICKS! Can you believe that????

The store was crowded since it is near the Lunar New Year period. Lots of shoppers going for last minute shopping at the mall. Also, there were a lot of outstation shoppers who came to Penang to celebrate Chinese New Year.

What they have in the store are mainly for home/kitchen use. Even the food section is bigger than the bento section! :| Oh well! Lucky thing we still have 100Yen to fill in those void! :P

Anyhoo, they have those big piece of felts selling at RM5 which are what I have been eying… my next hobby! hehheehe

So, it was not that bad after all… at least we have more choices now…
