Bento Fun #238 – Hoppity… Hop! Hop!

Gong Xi Fa Chai everyone!

Gawd! Lunar New Year came and gone and we are left with 9 more days for the celebration where we end it on the 15th day of the Lunar calendar. Good time don’t last eh? That’s life!

It was a hectic week for us though this year we decided not to cook for reunion dinner, instead we ate out… hassle free! It was kind of a last minute decision as all of us are/were busy and I told my MIL that we don’t need to to rush if we eat out. Well, it was the best decision indeed and everyone enjoyed since we get to have ample rest before dinner! Gone are the days where we fussed around the kitchen from morning till dinner time!

We spent the rest of the few days visiting relatives as well as having visitors coming to our home. I did not make much goodies this year since I have 2 monkeys who takes up all my time! I only managed to bake some pineapples tarts, peanut cookies and cornflakes cups. The rest of the goodies are store bought.

School starts yesterday and we started it with a heavy heart… And to give Darrius some encouragement, I packed him a small bento yesterday consisting of all the CNY goodies and he went on coughing really badly last night! *sigh* So, I tried to do a slightly better one today but I woke up late so it ended up not so nice either but I am going to just post it anyway…

It was another bunny theme!

I told him last night that I’m going to give him some sausages  for his bento and he was so happy! Why kids love all the forbidden food huh? The three bunnies are made of the chunky chicken cocktails with the muzzles made of cheese cut into heart shape. The ears are from slim wieners. There are some broccoli florets, carrot flowers, snap peas, a small cup of broiled edamame, cherry tomato with blueberry skewers and a small golden coin (chocolate) slot behind the carrot flowers. He has been bugging me for it and I tried not to give him too much since he has been coughing.

Ok, guess that’s all about it for now… still can’t get the lazy bones moving. I have been clearing all the mess as I should really start my packing!!! The thought of packing all my rubbish is a real headache! I have to really sit down and start to organize it since we are just a few months away from the big move! aaarrrgggghh!
