Bento Fun #245 – Lion King Bento

Baby was crying the entire night so can’t sleep and decided to blog about one of the bento I made a few days back…

During a drive home from kindy one day, Darrius told me about Daniel and the Lion Den which his teacher shared with the class. His kindy is under a church’s management hence the touching on such topics.

We are not Christians so I don’t really know much about biblical stories and characters though I used to attend bible class during my school days yonks ago. However, I like the facts that Darrius gets to learn about them in school at such young age so it leave a better and deeper impression… I guess. And I always love positive teaching.

Also, the kindy changed the naming of the classrooms from colors to the few famous biblical stories such as Noah’s Ark and etc… and coincidentally Darrius’s classroom was named Daniel and the Lion Den. And do you know that King Darius was one of the character in the story? *wink* (I named him after the great King Darius I, the Great King of Persia)

After the short chat, I decided to make him a bento with a lion in it…

I used one of the new flower/daisy cutter I bought from Daiso to cut out the lion’s mane and using 2 different cheeses with white bread to make a triple deck sammie. There are some cherries, cherry tomato, blueberry skewers, mango jelly and a few edges of Mandarin oranges. Packed him a square gold coin as treat too. Used my lion’s table mat as the backdrop which is so app!

Ok, the funny part was when I show Darrius the bento. He asked me, ‘Mommy, where is Daniel???’ Ooops! I then told him I don’t have the time to make Daniel so will have to make another one another time! I doubt I can make Daniel in such a short time since I have only 30 mins to prepare his bento each morning! Will see how things goes…

So, instead of naming this bento Daniel and the Lion den, I named it Lion King instead since there is a crown on top of the lion’s head! hahahaha
