Bento Fun #252 – Hey There Brown Cow!
Hello March! We are entering the third month of the year!
Yesterday after lunch I brought the kids out to meet a blogging and bento friend who came to Penang for a talk. On the way, we passed by some green patches and there, Darrius spotted a brown cow and exclaimed excitedly ‘ Mommy! Look! There’s a brown cow!’ It is quite rare to see cows roaming around these days so kids get excited when they spot any.
I took the opportunity to ask Darrius if he would like to have brown cow bento the next day and he said YES! I asked him this because I bought some coffee raisins bread and was thinking to make him something out of it and it was such a great opportunity!
.
.
I made an egg omelette (egg + mayo) pocket sammy for the cow head. Using another slice of white bread I cut out the cow’s muzzle and attached by spreading some mayo on the surface. Then I cut out some nori for the black spots. The ears were cut out from the bread crust and attached with spaghetti strips. The horns were from white bread too and attached using spaghetti strips. Eyes are cheese and nori.
For the sides, there are some strawberries, blanched broccoli, Mandarin orange wedges and some edamame skewers using the alphabets picks to spell out the word ‘COW’ which was requested by Darrius too.
That’s all for today. Have fun bentoing!

You can get endamame in Jusco or in Mediya (Kelawei Rd) next to the Esso/Mobil petrol kiosk.
I love how creative you are to turn that pocket sandwich into a cute brown cow. It sure looks fun for kids to eat
