Bento Fun #259 – Chip the Chipmunk Bento
G’day all!
I woke up very early again this morning because our room’s aircon’s remote don’t seems to be able to sense the change in temperature so the compressor was working all the time, making our room freezing cold! *o* I have to wake up to increase the temperature by a degree and made sure the remote was not hidden so it can be sensed. It was drizzling the entire night which added to the low temperature… I guessed.
Yesterday I finally received my orders from Bento Craft which I have order about 2 months back! *blushed* And I am using one of it which was supposed to be another character that I have ordered wrongly earlier and Bento Craft was so nice to make a change for me.
Initially I told Darrius I’ll make him a Chip & Dale bento as he was around when the courier guy came. Then he told me he don’t like Dale. -_- This Boy! So I have to make do by making just Chip!
.
.
I already have the Chip & Dale cutters bought like 3 years ago! However, I’ve not used any of them.
Then they come out with the cutter + puncher sets so no choice, gotta buy the set too! For the purpose of making this bento, I went to get a loaf of Wheatmeal Raisin bread yesterday. I used the bread crust as the color is the right tone for making the chipmunk.
Chip is a triple deck sammy with cheese in between and on the surface. I imprint the facial details before cutting it out the cheese with a sharp pointed knife. Then punched out the nori. The cutouts from the puncher is a little different from the lines available on the cutter’s imprint so have to use own judgement to stick them on the appropriate places!
In the box are 2 acorns made of chicken cocktail and hotdog. Acorns are chipmunk’s favorite food. With the balance hotdog, I made a sun. There are some Korean strawberries, yellow cherry tomato (behind the sun), a portion of corn on cob and some pearl cherry tomatoes.
Hubby left for his 1st business trip this morning and I so dreaded tonight when I have to tuck the kids to bed… It gets very chaotic especially bed time… *sigh*
Anyway, wishing all of you a good day ahead and it is TGIF tomorrow! yeah!

My two monsters don’t sleep until everyone is in the room and the light
switched off! Even then the small one will still go disturb the brother.

You try not to boil your sausages for too long and
don’t cut too much (just half) for the petals and
you should be fine.
too cute for words!
