*Saxaphone*

I don’t play the saxaphone so when someone mentioned about Vandoren reeds alto sax, I have the faintest idea what it is until I searched the internet.

The reed vibration controls the air flow into the saxophone and it is the key to making a sound! Most reeds are given a rating of strength of 1 through 5. The lower the number, the lower the reed which is softer and the higher the reed, the stronger it is. Generally, most beginner will start of with a lower reed and the advanced players will usually use a hinger reed.

Well, there are certainly lots of things to learn when one picks up a musical instrument!

ECO Lunch Box

I have been contemplating of getting a set of the ECO lunch box for the longest time  as I really like the stainless steel look and feel! However, these lunch boxes don’t come cheap! Also, it can’t be used in the microwave so I just can’t decide!

Still thinking hard if I should get it as the set above cost about $30. I already have too many bento boxes but they are all plastics so would love to add something different to my collection…

*Dance production*

What do you know! It is the final term already! This is the time of the year where the kids in school will have loads of fun activities… yes, unlike the scenario in Asia where students are busy preparing for final exams, the kids in Australia will be having year end fun!

Darrius’s will be having his school’s dance production next month which he he is pretty excited about. The theme is not out yet but it should be by next week and the kids will start to rehearse. Not sure how it will be this year but every year the school will do a different music era.

We are looking forward to it and hopefully this year they will engage some DJ or something with good quality mf  and sound mixer to make it more professional. Whatever it is, we are excited for the kids!

Cooking demo in kinder

I was invited by Glennedine’s kinder to do some cooking demo to the kids. I have not decided what to do yet but will try to do something simple so the kids can take part and have fun.

Will probably do some sammies decorated with funny eyes :P

*Karaoke session*

When we were in Malaysia last month, the kids were being exposed to a lot of things which they have not experienced before (for Darrius, he has forgotten!) and was curious! The girls especially, have not had any karaoke sessions before and they were very keen! Told them they can sing ‘Let It Go’ in the room and they were all excited!

We were very very tempted to check out the new karaoke place nearby the playland the kids were playing but they were too tired after their play. I did went to check the place out and they were quite trendy and during certain hours, they have special promos too. However, they don’t give those microphones like the mxl 990 condenser microphone in the rooms though… just some elcheapo brand mics… :P

Imitation bento gadgets!

Last month when I was back in Penang, I managed to pop by Mr DIY in Penang Time Square and got a rude shock when I found these on one of the aisles…

Yes, all the bento tools you and me paid a fortune for just a few months back are selling at less than half the price! My heart felt the pain as I have most of them bought from online bento shops at ‘premium’ prices. Some of them even brand new in their packaging as I have yet to try them out! *wailing*

*Just 10 weeks to Christmas!*

Can you believe it???!! We are just about 10 weeks away to Christmas! I thought I have just put my Christmas tree away and now I’ll have to put it up again!!! Oh yeah, I got a bigger tree since the small one that I bought earlier looked too tiny in our huge room!

I am very excited (so are the kids!!!) to decorate the tree as I got quite a lot of new ornaments during the post Christmas clearance. Since baby is more grown up now, I am even contemplating of getting a department 56 snow village to add on! How exciting!!!

This weekend I am going to bring all the stuff out from storage!

In Malaysia for vacation

We went back to Malaysia during the Term 3 school holiday for a short vacation. This is the first time we travelled back since we moved to Melbourne which is close to 3 years.

There were lots of changes both in Penang and KL but our time back is just too short so did not manage to check out most places  or meet up with all our friends and relatives.

However, it was good to be back though it was hot and hazy! At least we get to eat some of our favorite food back home!

*Wedding band*

Next year we will be celebrating our first double digit wedding anniversary! Can’t believe how time flies! Since it is still 6 months away, nothing has been planned yet. Hopefully we can do something special to commemorate this special day.

Though I would love the hubby to get me one of those diamond rings from the wedding bands platinum series but I would be more than happy if he gets me any other things :) It is the thoughts that counts right? :)

Nude Food Movers

Well, I’ve been really quiet lately. Besides the hustle and bustle of daily life, I’ve got a minor health scare recently. Thus, not doing much online work.

Have not been feeling too well and there was some chest pain so decided to check it out what was causing all the annoyance. Did a MRI scan of the heart, blood test as well as X-ray and was glad there was nothing major. Phew~ Doctor said it could be due to stress and anxieties. Therefore, I decided to take a back seat on all non important stuff until I am in the pink of health.

Due to that, I have not been doing a lot of kawaii bento but rather following the local trend here in Australia by using the Nude Food Movers System to pack the kids’ lunch boxes. It is supposed to be rubbish free so there is no waste such as food scraps and packaging in the kid’s lunch bag.

.

It is a simple system where all prepared food are kept in specific boxes which can be fitted into a bigger box holding the different items together. I like the empty jar with a cap lid where I can put yogurt for the kids. Well, I can buy the individual serving yogurt but that means my kids will have to bin the empty containers and sometimes they can’t finish and those left over yogurt will be left flowing into the lunch bag since they do not have a lid. Also, it is cheaper to buy a 1L tub than buying individual serving tubs. Less mess and less rubbish!
